It seems like anytime we have some sort of repair man come to our house, we end up having to replace some major appliance or spend an enormous amount of money that was unexpected, so you can imagine my "excitement" when our water heater went out last night. The repairman came, took a quick look at our heater, and gave me the price of a new one. Yikes! He then saw a leak that changed everything! The pilot light was extiguished by an exterior leak, not something inside! We crossed our fingers as everything dried out and he was able to relight the pilot light. It stayed lit! I can keep that $1000 for a new water heater in my pocket! My luck never seems to go that way (see previous post from July on the story of our new air conditioner!)
I am counting my blessings today!
