We planned to spend the day in Oakley and participate in the festivities of the day before the rodeo, but found there weren't any! Instead, we had a delicious lunch at The Gateway Grill in Kamas, and then spent the afternoon at the park near the rodeo grounds. The firefighters had just left after spraying their hoses so the grass was soaked and there were some pretty big puddles for the kids to play in. Luckily, I had thought to bring them all a change of clothes just in case! There was also a dog running around who was so sweet and friendly! I wanted to take him home with us, but it was obvious he had a home and was just on a walkabout! It was a chocolate lab, but by looking at his eyes, he looked like he had a little bit of pit bull in him. I was a little hesitant at first because of that, but he ended up being so friendly with the kids. After they had pooped him out, he laid down to take a nap and even tolerated Asher climbing all over him. (Wow, he has more tolerance than me!) By the time we waited all day for the rodeo, we were pretty tired but enjoyed it anyways. It was a long drive home, but a fun day.
